USC Football: Pac-12 QB Might Be Caleb Williams' Top Competition For Heisman No. 2

It should be a great show in November.

Despite many teams deciding to leave the conference next season the Pac-12's final year brought the best out of many teams on the gridiron.

With four teams rounding out the top 10 including your Men of Troy, the team that supplanted them in the recent AP Poll boasts their talented quarterback to challenge Caleb William's Heisman throne.

Throughout the evening hours of college football, the two best quarterbacks in college football continued to shine as

Caleb Williams

led USC to a win over Arizona State while

Michael Penix Jr.

and Washington scorched California. E

vidence suggests the two quarterbacks

could meet twice this season, one on Nov. 4 in Los Angeles, the other in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The winning quarterback could hoist the Heisman Trophy.

Williams is winning the turnover between the two quarterbacks, as the Trojans signal-caller has scored 18 total touchdowns without a giveaway in his four games thus far.

Penix Jr.'s efforts for the Huskies might be even better as he's accounted for more yards and touchdowns through the air than the reigning Heisman winner in his undefeated start to 2023.

Entrenched not just in the battle for conference supremacy but individual accolades as well, both young QBs are doing quite well for themselves to raise their draft stocks and impress scouts through the season's first month and change.

Catapulting toward a heavyweight bout that could decide both fights, the Men of Troy's lackluster showing against the Sun Devils might concern both fans for the eventual showdown between them and Washington.

The move to place the Huskies over the Trojans despite the same result of a win indicates that AP rankers feel the same bullish attitude toward USC's performance.

As a result, it'll be up to Williams and the rest of the roster to shoulder that weight and carry the team to glory against said doubters with plenty of challengers approaching in due time.
