With Caleb Williams heading for the NFL Scouting Combine, he takes one step closer to reaching his dream of playing in the NFL.

"This is what I've been preparing for my whole life. Since I was 10 or 11, this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. At that age until now, it basically feels like your whole life.

Even though it's a given that Williams will get drafted and is one of the most standout players in the 2024 NFL Draft, it's still a special achievement for him. Sure, the former Heisman Trophy winner and All-American was undoubtedly set to become a top-five pick for practically a year now, but it doesn't mean he's not feeling the excitement.

In particular, Williams is excited to join a team again and be surrounded by those who will become his new teammates.

"I'm excited. I'm ready to get back on a football team around my teammates and my brothers -- my new brothers now."

Williams' new team will likely be the Chicago Bears or Washington Commanders, who hold the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the NFL Draft. There's also a real possibility that the Bears will trade down and another team will jump up to select Caleb.

No matter who selects him, Williams will have to wait until late April to find out which team he will play for to start his NFL career. He'll then get to meet his teammates in May when NFL rookie minicamps begin.
