USC Football: Caleb Williams On-Site For Holiday Bowl Game
Your USC Trojans' best player, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams, has touched down in Petco Park ahead of the club's impending Holiday Bowl matchup against the favored Louisville Cardinals, which kicks off tonight at 5 p.m.
There's just one catch: he's still not playing. Instead his reserve, Miller Moss, will be the main man under center for your Trojans.
He is, however, doing his best to serve as a sort of ancillary coach to his comrades from the sidelines, as you can see from this pregame display.
Williams opted out of the game, with an eye toward preserving his body for an anticipated NFL future. If the Trojans' bowl game was a bit more nationally meaningful, one wonders if he would have decided to don the Cardinal and Gold at least one last time. But alas.
He's seen as one of the best prospects in the 2024 draft, though the junior signal caller has not officially decided to forgo his college eligibility just yet.
This year, the 6'1", 215-pound superstar notched 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns (against five interceptions) for the Trojans. He registered an 82.1 quarterback rating for his efforts.
The 10-3 Cardinals are -6.5-point favorites to defeat your 7-5 Trojans, who have lost five of their last six games.
