USC Football: Caleb Williams Reacts to CFP Rankings
The final four are set for the College Football Playoffs, and here are the standings:
Unfortunately, your USC Trojans aren't among the top four, like many fans and experts predicted they would be. There's always a next year. Although the Trojans aren't involved in it, it didn't stop their star quarterback Caleb Williams from giving his two cents on the final rankings, particularly on the ACC champions, the Flordia State Seminoles.
Like many out there, Williams is shocked by the college football playoff committee for leaving out the undefeated Noles.
This is the first time in the 10 years of the playoff that an undefeated conference champion from a Power 5 conference is left out. It's unfortunate for the Seminoles, but with the loss of their star quarterback, Jordan Travis, and how unimpressive they looked in the ACC championship game. It seemed like a no-brainer to leave them out and put Alabama in instead.
It certainly wasn't an easy decision, but the committee did it right. Alabama ended the two-time defending champions, the Georgia Bulldogs' 29-game winning streak to end the season on an 11-game winning streak. The SEC is the premier conference in the county, and leaving out the Crismon Tide would have been a travesty.
Hopefully, the Trojans will be among the top 4 in 2024; however, there is a ton of work ahead of them to accomplish this goal.
