USC Football: Caleb Williams Weighs In On Chiefs' Comeback Super Bowl Win
During the most-watched Super Bowl in history (after which host channel CBS immediately announced plans to lay off 800 staffers, for some cruel reason), Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs rallied back from a 10-point first half deficit to tie the San Francisco 49ers in regulation, forcing an overtime in which they rallied for a W.
Former USC Trojans Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams, widely expected to be a top-two pick in this spring's upcoming NFL draft, had a simple one-word reaction to the Chiefs' bonus period comeback on his Instagram Story, per Shivam Pratap Singh of Sportskeeda: "Wow."
Williams no doubt hopes to one day be in the midst of a deep playoff run with his own NFL squad. The Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders possess the top two picks in this year's draft. Whether or not Chicago will commit to intriguing incumbent quarterback Justin Fields out of OSU has been the big question of the offseason. Williams is generally considered the best prospect at his position. Reigning Heisman winner Drake Maye out of North Carolina, Jayden Daniels out of LSU, and even J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan, hot off a College Football Playoff championship, are the other elite quarterbacks likely to be selected near the top of the draft.
