It took Caleb Williams a long time to declare for the NFL Draft. In fact, he waited until the final day that upperclassmen were eligible to declare before he announced on social media that he would indeed be heading to the pro level.

While it was a bit shocking that Williams took his time, it just proved that the young QB is planning on doing things his way. Even more shocking is that Williams will also reportedly be entering the NFL without an agent.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk announced that Williams will tackle his contract on his own.

"The list of draft-eligible players and their agents, published by the NFL Players Association on Wednesday, does not include the former USC quarterback. After sending a couple of texts, we’ve confirmed that Williams has not hired an agent — and he apparently does not plan to do so."

It's been more common lately for players to want to negotiate their own deals, with some being successful. Lamar Jackson ended up handling his own contract and secured a huge deal from the Ravens.

However, that deal might have been faster going or even more lucrative had he hired an agent to handle the contract. Still, he can smile knowing that he was there to handle the business side of the NFL on his own.

Williams is also a smart and dynamic player that many expect to be at the level of Jackson. If the young USC QB can strike a great rookie deal with no help, then more power to him.
