USC Football: Expert Predicts Trojans Will Remain In AP Top 25 Following Cal Win

USC should remain in the 20 range
In this story:

Your USC Trojans got back to their winning ways after defeating Cal on Saturday, though it was a bit close for comfort.

While the Trojans eventually got by the Golden Bears 50-49, Sports Illustrated writer Mike McDaniel believes that USC will remain in the Top 25.

Entering the game against unranked Cal, USC was the 24th-ranked team in the country.

Three weeks ago the Trojans were ranked in the top 10, but after two consecutive losses to Notre Dame and Utah, the team has fallen.

Even though the Trojans trailed Cal for most of the game on Saturday, the team should not suffer in the rankings.

According to McDaniel, USC will be the 22nd-ranked team in the nation.

With teams like Oklahoma and North Carolina losing this week to unranked opponents, a lot of teams will have new rankings this week.

Other teams that are moving the top 25 that USC has or have yet to play include Utah, Oregon and Washington.

Utah will slide down the rankings as they were smoked by Oregon who is now moving higher up in the top 10.

Washington defeated Stanford to stay in the top 10 as well.

The official AP Poll will be released on Sunday and the official College Football Rankings will be unveiled on Tuesday.
