USC Football: Experts Tag Trojans for "Escape of the Week" in Week 6 of College Football

USC's narrow win earns them honors

Despite coming into the week ranked as the ninth team in the nation, USC survived an upset scare at the Los Angeles Coliseum as they squeaked out a win over unranked Arizona.

The Trojans' 43-41 win in double overtime was dubbed the "Escape of the Week" by Bleacher Report's David Kenyon.

The Trojans have played two tight games against both Arizona schools in the past three weeks. In week four, USC played a close game against Arizona State and won 42-28 despite coming into the game as 34.5-point favorites.

This past week, USC once again played a close game that was predicted to be otherwise as they were multiple score favorites against the Wildcats.

Another close game for USC does not help the team's case of being worrisome. Heading into Week 6, multiple media outlets kept saying that USC does not have what it takes to keep up with the other top teams in the Pac-12.

The Trojans now have a real test this weekend in its rivalry game against Notre Dame.

On the road, USC opened up as 2.5-point underdogs. Now that USC is playing a ranked team, this is their opportunity to prove that they still have a chance to compete for a College Football Playoff title.

Now, USC is hoping to keep its rough outings over the last few games in the past and turn its season around against better teams.
