USC Football: Freshman Wideouts Touted as USC Offense Game-Changers

As the start of the season approaches, USC Trojans fans are brimming with excitement for what could be a record-breaking offensive year under the guidance of head coach Lincoln Riley. The offense is expected to hum smoothly, firing on all cylinders.
All eyes are on the promising incoming freshman pass catchers Zachariah Branch and Duce Robinson as they prepare to make a significant impact in their debut season. With USC boasting its deepest wide receiver room ever, these two freshmen have a golden opportunity to showcase their talent and give opposing defenses a real run for their money.
If these two freshmen can ball out, the USC offense can be the best in the country. USC beat writer Ryan Kartje explains how they could do if they click right away.
So with
Zachariah Branch
, ranked seventh nationally by 247 Sports, and
Duce Robinson
, ranked 19th, USC is in rarefied air with two top prospects. Both seem bound for stardom. The only question now is when they might start living up to that sky-high potential.
No position group on USC’s roster is deeper than wide receiver, where you can make a convincing case for at least six players to start before you even consider Branch and Robinson. The lighting-fast Branch spent the spring at USC, which should help him find his footing more quickly than Robinson. But Robinson’s physical tools are so significant, it’s hard to imagine he’d spend much time on the sidelines. Both will be among the most closely watched during camp.
Expect USC to use the depth to its advantage while bringing the pair along slowly, but eventually, the cream rises to the top. By the end of the season, don’t be surprised if both are major contributors.

Both are sure to be great for the Trojans, and we cannot wait to see them ball out,
Branch is coming out of Las Vegas, where he was the number one position player in the country, the number one player in Nevada, and the number seven national player. He has been compared to All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill for his speed and elite pass-catching ability.
As for Robinson, he's a natural-born athlete and ended up being the number one player in Arizona and number 19 in his class. He stands at 6'6", 229 pounds and is very smooth in his routes, and has excellent speed with physical attributes.
The two will thrive in Riley's system, especially in their first year with Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams.
It's going to be fun to watch them grow and lead the Trojans back to the promise land.
