USC Football: Kliff Kingsbury Leaving Trojans to Join NFC East Squad as OC
USC's senior offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury is officially leaving for the NFL, for real this time.
After reportedly accepting the new Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator job, he backed out of consideration. Kingsbury backed out because he will now head East to become the new offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders.
ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report.
Kingsbury, 44, spent one season as USC's senior offensive analyst. He was the Arizona Cardinals' head coach from 2019 to 2022.
Schefter reported on Saturday that Kingsbury was the leading candidate for the Washington Commander offensive coordinator position. The Commanders hold the number two pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Whoever that young quarterback will be, he will be under the wing of one of the best offensive minds in the game.
