Sophomore Sierra Canyon School defensive back Madden Riordan has committed to USC, according to On3's Scott Schrader.

The news comes on the same day that USC announced the firing of defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. Grinch's departure comes less than 24 hours after the Trojans allowed the Washington Huskies to score 52 points against them and drop USC to 7-3 and in danger of not making a bowl game.

Riordan has a keen eye for the ball and can quickly accelerate towards a pass catcher in the open field and cleanly execute tackles. In his freshman season at Sierra Canyon, Riordan has 58 tackles, three interceptions and five pass breakups.ย

Riordan was offered a scholarship last month and told SBLive Sports that committing to USC was a "dream come true."

"It means everything. USC is my dream school," the Class of 2026 defensive back said. "My dad is a huge USC fan and I was ecstatic and overwhelmed with emotion."

With Riordan's commitment, USC now boasts the No. 1 ranked 2026 recruiting class. while the sophomore is too young to have a rating by any recruiting services, he was a highly-touted recruit with several Division 1 offers.
