USC Football: MarShawn Lloyd Posts Top 10 RB Time In 40 At Combine

Lloyd ran a speedy 40-yard dash.

USC football running back MarShawn Lloyd posted one of the top 40-yard dash times among running backs at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. 

Lloyd ran an impressive 4.46-second 40-yard dash, which tied for the sixth-fastest in his position group. Only Louisville's Isaac Guerendo (4.33), Tennessee's Jaylen Wright (4.38), Florida State's Trey Benson (4.39), Texas' Keilan Robinson (4.42) and Monmouth's Jaden Shirden (4.45) posted a faster than Lloyd among running backs.

Outside of his 40-yard dash performance, Lloyd also finished top-ten in the vertical jump and bench press. Lloyd recorded a 36" inch vertical, good for eighth-best, and 25 bench reps good for third.

The five-foot-nine running back and former five-star recruit comes into the Combine after recording over 1,000 scrimmage yards during his final collegiate season. With USC in 2023, Lloyd rushed for 820 yards and nine touchdowns on 116 carries. 

Lloyd averaged the highest yards per carry rate of his collegiate career, rushing for 7.1 yards a pop. On top of his rushing performance, Lloyd caught 12 passes for 232 yards, averaging 17.8 yards per catch.

After a good Combine performance, Lloyd will get another chance to boost his draft stock at USC's Pro Day on March 20. Lloyd has now put together a strong Senior Bowl and Combine performance. With a good Pro Day on top of that, he'll aim to raise his draft projection, which now looks to be a day 2 or early day 3 pick.
