USC Football: Miller Moss Describes Tahj Washington as Exceptional Team Player
While freshman receiver Zachariah Branch and transfer receiver Dorian Singer were the main components behind the offseason hype surrounding the Trojans' loaded receiver room, redshirt senior Tahj Washington is continuing to prove that he is integral to the USC offense.
In USC's 66-14 win over the Nevada Wolfpack, Washington caught three balls for 75 yards and two touchdowns. In the season opener against San Jose State, Washington caught two passes for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Talk about efficiency.
Washington's connection with quarterback Caleb Williams has come into play already during this season, an advantage of having a returning receiver as a leader in the locker room. In the San Jose State game, Williams dropped the snap only to pick it up and sling it downfield for a touchdown to a streaking Washington, who knew Williams too well to assume the play was dead.
"Tahj is just the man," said second-string quarterback Miller Moss after the game. "There's so many things that you don't see that he does, whether it's on special teams, whether it's blocking on the perimeter. It's no surprise to see that he shines in the way that he does."

Washington had 785 receiving yards last season, making him the second-leading receiver after Jordan Addison. Washington leads by example as a veteran in a relatively young receiver room.
"Dude never complains, never whines about not getting the ball, always does his job at a super, super high level," Moss said. "I think you see that kind of come to fruition in the opportunities that he gets. He's the freaking man. I think everyone on that team, everyone in that locker room, would ride or die for Tahj."
