USC Football: Miller Moss Not Shaken by Trojans Potentially Adding Transfer Portal QB
The departure of Caleb Williams signals a new era under center for your USC Trojans. Who is taking his spot, however, remains uncertain.
Los Angeles native Miller Moss is the current favorite to take the job, joining the lineage of Williams, Kedon Slovis, and Sam Darnold.
The redshirt sophomore has been solid when he's played (albeit, exclusively in garbage time), completing 20 of his 27 pass attempts for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Amidst some confidence in Moss from Lincoln Riley, there's also discussion about a backup entering the fold via the transfer portal.
When asked by Connor Morrissette of USCFootball.com about his future with the club, here's what Moss had to say:
This attitude is great to see, as Moss acknowledges that there'll likely be a QB competition come the spring and summer.
Miller is no stranger to a crowded QB room, however, as his time with the Trojans has been highlighted by competition with Slovis and Jaxson Dart in 2021, and last/this year, he took a back seat to Caleb Williams.
The familiarity Moss has with the system should bode well when it comes to how he fares against a newcomer QB, but it's safe to say that Riley will seek the best of the best in the portal.
The QB competition will likely end up being the Trojans' top offseason storyline, so stay tuned to see how it breaks down.
