USC Football: Miller Moss Receives Ringing Endorsement For QB1 Role From Receiver
Miller Moss came and conquered. The sophomore QB got his start after Caleb Williams skipped the Holiday Bowl, presumably so he can enter the NFL Draft.
Moss had a rough first quarter, as he was not able to get the offense humming. However, the beginning game jitters were obliterated by the 2nd quarter. The young QB started dealing and slinging the ball downfield.
Moss would end his first start as QB1 for the Trojans with 367 yards and 6 TDs, tying the season-high for Caleb Williams. Moss may have secured his chance to be QB1 for the 2024 season, and he has been getting votes of confidence from players and coaches alike.
Kyron Hudson was asked about Moss' performance, and what he thinks about the QB taking over the starting job for the 2024 season.
Hudson stated, "He's ready for it, and he's the guy that we need."
Moss has been stating for a few weeks that he was not shaken by the fact that the Trojans were bringing in Will Howard, or he would have to compete for the starting position with any other transfer portal acquisitions.
Moss came prepared and lit up the field. Tying Williams' TD record should justify Lincoln Riley's need to start Moss in 2024. We will see what happens, but we imagine Moss has won the job.
Having to start is one thing, but throwing out a performance like that under the primetime lights should count for even more. Riley would be foolish not to give Moss another crack at the QB1 slot when the 2024 season begins.
