The addition of head coach Lincoln Riley to an already historic football school has been a game-changer. Riley has only been the coach of USC for the past year and a half, and he's already done more than the handful of coaches in the 2010's decade.

Things are only going up from here for the Trojans, and the future looks bright. USC is known for dominating recruiting locally, but to compete against the top schools nationally, they know they must go out there and scout for talent throughout all states. Riley and the crew are doing just that, which could land them a four-star running back from Texas.

The 2024 class is loaded with talent, and USC is doing its due diligence on that front, but they're not done yet. The number one running back from 2024 and the number 33 overall prospect, Taylor Tatum, has USC as one of his three potential schools. The Athletics CFB columnist Ari Wasserman believes that Tatum could make his way to Southern California.

When Lincoln Riley took the USC job, it was very easy to picture the Trojans dominating recruiting in Southern California. USC, though, knows it has to be able to pull kids from all over the country if it is going to win a national championship. USC has done a solid job in the 2024 cycle in that regard, dipping into the SEC footprint for top-tier blue-chip talent. The Trojans seem to be in a very good position with Tatum, the No. 1 running back in the country. Oklahoma, though, has all of the momentum after an official visit to Norman last weekend. Tatum officially visited USC at the beginning of the month.

Other than USC, Tatum is considering Michigan and Oklahoma. If USC were to lose him to their soon-to-be conference counterpart Michigan, that would be a huge blow. However, by the looks of it, it's USC's running back to lose.

The incoming senior has a 95 grade, according to 247Sports. He has great patience, athletic enough to bounce off runs, and has open-field speed to hit the big play.

At the moment, experts predict Tatum will be heading to Norman to become a Sooner; but you never know until you know.
