The 2023 USC Trojans will go into the season with mountain-type of expectations, and it's all thanks, in part, to their Heisman trophy-winning quarterback, Caleb Williams

Williams will enter his junior season and most likely his final season in the college football landscape. The 21-year-old is projected to go number one overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, and deservedly so.

USC fans can see the light at the end of the tunnel with Williams in Southern California. With that being said, it begs the question, who will be under center for the Trojans in the post-Caleb era?

It's a fair question and something that will be a the forefront going into the Big 10 Conference next season. At the moment, we don't know yet,  but USC writer Chris Trevino may have the answer.

Trevino answered five recruiting questions, and answered them all one of them was about the QB position in 2024. He believes they don't need to search for one in the recruiting part of things.

There is a popular phrase among the USC fan base when it comes to quarterback recruiting: "In Lincoln Riley we trust." When you've produced three Heisman winners at the QB spot, you tend to build that kind of cache. USC's three quarterback offers in the class have all found new homes: DJ Lagway (Florida), Elijah Brown (Stanford) and Dylan Raiola (Georgia). Technically, no USC does not need a quarterback in the cycle with three scholarship arms set for the roster in 2024.

You could never count out Riley when it comes to finding a transfer QB he could lure into Los Angeles. Still, he has some solid selections after Williams leaves for the NFL, like Miller Moss, who will be going into his sophomore season, from Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, CA. He was a four-star out of high school and displayed great tools to be a great college QB.

Trevino also went on to say that we can't rule out a transfer coming in and taking the spot.

While we can't count out a senior quarterback bursting on to the scene this fall a la Jaxson Dart, USC seems content with not taking a high school quarterback in the 2024 cycle. We would expect the master of transfer quarterbacks to at least take a look at what the NCAA Transfer Portal has to offer when it comes to signal callers in December.

Riley is the wizard when it comes to transfer QBs, and we'll see what else he has up his sleeve after the 2023 season.
