USC Football News: Trojan's Four-Star Cornerback Doing His Part to Lure Top Talent to USC

The USC Trojans 2024 recruiting class is among the best in the nation, but this is only the beginning. USC is planning to get some of the nation's top players in the class, and at the moment, they have a ton of great players who could make an impact right away.
One of the best players from that class is Gardena native Dakoda Fields. Fields committed back in early June, and if all goes well, he will don the Cardinal red and gold next fall. Fields is a four-star recruit, ranked the number ten CB in the nation and number 14 in California.
USC recruited the incoming senior hard, and he's now returning the favor, doing his part in recruiting the nation's best to Southern California.
"The fans have been showing love," he said with a smile. "I've been able to recruit a lot of other highly ranked dudes, hoping that they make a commitment in the next month or so. So, I've just been recruiting real hard trying to make the class as best as it can be."

The more help USC can get, the better. Fields also spoke on why he chose USC so early and the insight into his recruiting pitch.
"Leading on to my commitment, at first I didn't want to commit like during the summer right before football season, but after the USC official, I really enjoyed it," he said. "And I started talking to a lot of Cali dudes, and it they were asking me like, 'Hey, DK, do you mess with SC?' 'I was like, yeah, definitely, their one of my top schools.' I started talking to a lot of them highly ranked players and they just said let's see what kind of class we can build. So ever since then, I've just been recruiting as hard as I could."

According to 247Sports, USC is ranked sixth nationally in recruiting for the class of 2024, with 17 hard commits. SC has yet to land a five-star recruit, and if they're able to, there's no doubt it will shoot up their overall ranking.
If they want to compete with the Georgia's, Ohio State's, and Alabama's, they'll need to get a five-star, and Fields is making sure that happens.
