LOS ANGELES — USC football held its 13th spring practice of 2023 on Tuesday. Here is what we saw from the Trojans:

OBSERVATIONS FROM USC SPRING PRACTICE

- New USC senior offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury was not spotted at practice today.

- Like he's done for most of the spring sessions, long snapper Daniel Meunier came out of the locker room first.

- Defensive line coach Shaun Nua was the first position coach to walk into practice. Defensive lineman Jack Sullivan was the first non-specialist scholarship player to come out of the locker room.

- The first high-profile recruit spotted checking out today's practice was 2024 La Salle (Cincinnati, Ohio) safety Koy Beasley. He's ranked as 247Sports.com's No. 241 prospect in his class.

- USC offensive lineman Andrew Milek greeted reporters before practice.

- High school coaches from all over Southern California were at today's practice. Anthony Rouzier, the head coach of Santa Margarita in the Trinity League, watched practice. So did staff members from Bishop Amat, a team in the Mission League. Amat's defensive coordinator Sean Koelle was there as well as a few other coaches. USC grad Stafon Johnson took a large group of players from Dorsey High School to watch. Johnson is the head coach of the Dons, his alma mater. I believe I saw a staffer from Servite High School in the Trinity League as well.

- The next big-time recruit to walk into practice was 2025 Bonita (La Verne, Calif.) linebacker Noah Mikhail. He's 247Sports.com's No. 20 ranked recruit nationally. Before practice got going during warmups, Lincoln Riley came over to speak with Mikhail and his father. That hasn't been something Riley does this spring. It's clear that Mikhail is a major target, as he should be. Middle school QB Daniel Mielke accompanied Mikhail.

- Two underclassmen high school kickers also watched practice.

- 2026 defensive back/linebacker TJ Cirilli watched practice. He attends Fairfield Prep in Connecticut.

- The next big-time prospect spotted was 2025 Los Alamitos (Calif.) cornerback Jett White, a one-time USC commit who backed off his pledge in January. White is ranked as the No. 90 prospect nationally in his class by 247Sports.com.

- During warmups, Josiah Zamora, Matt Colombo, MarShawn Lloyd, Lake McRee, Miller Moss, Caleb Williams, Justin Dedich, Jonah Monheim, Gino Quinones, Solomon Tuliaupupu, Kyon Barrs, De’jon Benton, Raesjon Davis, Shane Lee, Tackett Curtis, Jamil Muhammad, Max Williams, Calen Bullock and Jacobe Covington all led lines of stretches/warmup exercises.

- After warmups, USC strength coach Bennie Wylie had a conversation with Koy Beasley.

- In USC's defensive pursuit drill, Ceyair Wright, Bryson Shaw, De’jon Benton, Kyon Barrs, Mason Cobb, Shane Lee, Jacobe Covington, Calen Bullock, Solomon Tuliaupupu, Jaylin Smith and Jamil Muhammad were in the first unit.

- The second unit consisted of Christian Roland-Wallace, Anthony Lucas, Prophet Brown, Anthony Beavers Jr., Jack Sullivan, Raesjon Davis, Stanley Ta'ufo'ou, Sam Greene, Fabian Ross, Tackett Curtis and Max Williams.

- Following the pursuit drill, rush end Jamil Muhammad continued to work with a small group of two other players including freshman Sam Greene next to where a larger group of defensive linemen ran through a drill.

- During a tackling drill amongst members of the secondary, freshman safety Christian Pierce didn't wrap up when making a tackle and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch had him repeat the rep after telling him to get his arms around the ball carrier.

- After practice, Jamil Muhammad said: "Great day today!"

- Lincoln Riley was seen speaking with offensive lineman Mason Murphy after practice by the tunnel to enter the locker room.
