USC Football: Oddsmakers Project Trojans To End Losing Streak Against Cal

They need to get back to their winning ways this week.

After two straight losses, almost certainly ending the USC Trojans' dream of winning a National Championship this season, USC now looks ahead to try to salvage their season. It won’t be easy, but USC is still a very talented squad.

Crissy Froyd of SaturdayOutWest revealed the team's struggles, along with head coach Riley's decision to be the only one to speak to the media.

“USC had one of its most embarrassing performances in recent history when quarterback Caleb Williams threw 3 interceptions against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a 48-20 loss. That was followed by a 34-32 loss to the Utah Utes in which head coach Lincoln Riley decided to make all of his players unavailable to the media, with only he himself speaking to reporters.”

The Trojans have a lot of problems that they need to work through, but everything starts with looking ahead, not back. And right now, they are completely focused on taking down Cal this weekend.

Right now, USC is a ten-point favorite over Cal and they are expected to break their short two-game losing streak. The Trojans head up to Berkley before they get the brunt of their schedule in the form of Oregon, Washington, and UCLA in three consecutive weeks.

“Cal has had some time to rest and make adjustments as the Golden Bears head into this one coming off of an open date. The last week that Cal was in action, the team fell 34-14 to the Utes, the same opponent USC faced on Saturday.”

Per Crissy Froyd of SaturdayOutWest.com

USC can’t take Cal for granted in their matchup and they need to enter this game with a do-or-die mentality. They still have a chance to win the Pac-12 if they can win out, but one more loss for them and it will truly be a wasted year.

The Trojans should have no problem with Cal, but they need to execute their game plan. Pride becomes a factor after two poor performances, and the Trojans have to come out strong early on.
