In one of college football's most discussed stories in the past decade, one former USC standout has expectations about his return to not just the gridiron but the university as a whole.

Trojan great Reggie Bush mentioned through his representation that the school hang his uniform up in the stadium once more after a long absence away from the Coliseum.

In a story that's been detailed multiple times over the years, Bush has long awaited his Heisman award to be returned to its rightful place in his possession for his performance on the field while at USC.

Essentially blackballed by the NCAA due to their previous stipulations and rules, similar stories of violations from other players haven't resulted in the same punishment.

A stellar 2005 season on the field has tried to be swept under the rug by the governing body on college athletics. However, Trojans fans still have the memories of Bush's greatness paired alongside the confusing nature of his current standing with them.

Rushing for over 1700 yards and 16 touchdowns, Bush and the Trojans reached the national championship against Vince Young and the Texas Longhorns.

Though the Trojans fell short that day, both teams played in what is primarily considered to be one of the best college football games of all time.

The debate about reinstating Bush becomes all the more pressing when NIL deals mean that players in certain states and schools can get paid through endorsement deals.

As USC is now one of those schools, such a debate shouldn't be a question for anybody anymore.

Bush's unfair conviction and subsequent expulsion by proxy from the game he gave so much to needs a reversal that's been long overdue.

Let's get the man, the fans, and several other parties a break and end this silly feud already.
