USC Football: Safety Noncommital About Returning to Trojans in 2024
The USC Trojans face much uncertainty before we enter the 2024 season. For one, who will be the Trojans QB1 in 2024? The answer to that is still unknown. Other uncertainties exist outside the obvious, including redshirt senior safety Bryson Shaw.
According to senior staff writer Connor Morrissette, Shaw says he hasn't decided whether to return to USC.
If 2023 is the last we saw of Shaw in the cardinal red and gold, it was a good run. After transferring from Ohio State after the 2021 season, he came to Southern California and has played an integral part in the defense.
In his past two seasons at USC, he recorded 102 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, and five passes defended.
He entered the 2023 season to impact the defensive backs unit, and with a new defensive coordinator for the upcoming season, we'll see if he wants to be a part of the new regime.
Whatever he decides to do, we wish Bryson the best. Selfishly, though, we hope he returns for one more year.
