USC Football: Sports Broadcaster Praises Trojans Defense Despite Shaky Game

Were we watching the same game?

The USC Trojans had a close call yesterday against the Arizona State Sun Devils. While the offense continued to shine, the defense's performance left much to be desired. The defensive display gave USC fans a sense of déjà vu from last year, as they allowed several big plays and kept ASU in the game for most of the match.

However, one voice that seemed out of sync with the general sentiment was commentator Tim Brando. Brando was covering the USC-ASU game last night, and in the final seconds of the game, he made an unusual comment, almost sounding sarcastic.

It left us wondering if Brando had watched the same game we did. The USC defense appeared to be struggling against an opponent that had experienced significant difficulties just the week before against Fresno State.

They allowed ASU to rack up 353 total yards and made their running back, Cameron Skattebo, look like the second coming of Barry Sanders, as he rushed for a season-high 111 yards.

Witnessing the Trojan defense's struggles was undoubtedly frustrating. While a few things went their way in the end, relying on luck won't cut it for the rest of the season.

USC has a target on its back, and opposing teams are coming after them. To achieve their goals, the Trojans must step up their game on the defensive side, as there is no room for complacency in their pursuit of success.

They have another big road test next week at Colorado, and after their embarrassing loss, you know they're coming out for blood. USC must be prepared, or else they'll be in for a long day.
