In their dominant win against the Stanford Cardinal in their third game of the season, USC matched a mark that hasn't been seen in their team's history in nearly 50 years.

Unmatched since 1974 in a game that Trojans fans will be happy to remember, this year's Men of Troy scored 49 in a half on their way to win the game in dominating fashion against a Pac-12 rival.

Harkening back to the teams of old, Caleb Williams and the rest of the team channeled the likes of Anthony Davis from that fateful game against Notre Dame nearly five decades ago.

After Davis ended the first half of their 1974 contest against the Fighting Irish with a touchdown, he opened the second with another off a kickoff return, sparking a run of 56 overall unanswered points for USC against their rival.

While the Trojans over the weekend didn't need a comeback effort to get their victory, USC fans still enjoyed the fireworks show thanks to their Heisman-winning QB and the rest of the team.

On a roll that very few teams can reach, the Men of Troy in 2023 have now scored at least 56 points in each of their first three games of the year.

Well, on their way to another dominating season, the Trojans know they have some unfinished business from 2022 to avenge.

Unable to compete in the College Football Playoff last season thanks largely in part to their defense, individual accolades aren't the prime objective for the Men of Troy this year.

Wanting to make a name for themselves on the national stage, aside from just winning Heisman trophies, the team will need to have all hands on deck to support Caleb Williams in sharing the glory.

With a championship well within their sights, USC knows the work has just begun with their hot start.
