The USC Trojans signed 21 high school recruits on the first day of the Early National Signing Day Period, headlined by Corona Centennial (CA) five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet. Longstreet joined USC Trojans on SI for an exclusive interview.

"I'm really appreciate to be a part of the Trojan family, like coach (Lincoln) Riley and coach (Luke) Huard told me, once I come in it's a business," Longstreet told Kendell Hollowell. "We have to grind and put the city back where it was, put USC back where it was and that's just the goal for this class."

Growing up in Inglewood, CA less than 10 miles away from USC's campus, Longstreet feels a sense of pride playing for his hometown school. The Trojans have a rich history when it comes to success on the gridiron that stretches across generations and Longstreet is focused on getting USC back to that standard.

"Just growing up in California, everywhere you look it's the pride of USC," Longstreet said. "It's time to put USC back to where it was and go get that national championship."

USC ended the day as the No. 14 ranked recruiting class for the 2025 recruiting class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. The Trojans finished with the No. 20 ranked recruiting class in the 2024 recruiting cycle and the No. 9 ranked recruiting class in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

"I think this recruiting class is something really special, Longstreet said. "I feel like everyone going to USC is going to USC for a reason. Every time I talk to a recruit it's not about outside sources, they're all about ball. I feel like that's going to be something big in the program."

The five-star quarterback is particularly excited to start working with a talented group of receivers that he will be throwing to in Riley's offense over the next few seasons.

"I feel like this group of receivers is very different," Longstreet said. I feel like we have all typed of receivers. Corey Simms is obviously a very big receiver, about 6'3", 6'4" about 200, he's fast, he can go. And you got guys like Tanook Hines who's got that strong base look, about 6'1". To be honest all our receivers can fly, they're ballhawks. That balls in there, they're gonna go get it."

The Trojans put the finishing touches on their 2025 recruiting class during the Early National Signing Period by landing five-star Edna Karr (LA) defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart. Once the No. 1 prospect for the 2026 recruiting cycle, Stewart reclassified in October and announced his decision sign with the Trojans on Wednesday.

"He just works, just the way he carries himself is just straight intense," Longstreet said. "I feel like him on the d-line is gonna be a big part of this program.

"I am very excited to have somebody from Louisiana where all of my family is from, its truly a blessing. It's kind of a connection already. I just can't wait for both of us to be on campus," Longstreet said.

Longstreet will graduate from Corona Centennial on Dec. 16 and the following day he will start practicing with the Trojans for their upcoming bowl game that will be announced on Sunday along with the official bracket for the 12-team College Football Playoff.
