USC Trojans Predicted To Land Elite Defensive Lineman Recruit Floyd Boucard

The USC Trojans are predicted to receive a big commitment along the defensive front in three-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard. Boucard decommitted from Oklahoma earlier this year.

After losing a piece of their defensive line mid-season in Bear Alexander (who decided to redshirt) USC Trojans head Lincoln Riley and the USC coaching staff wasted no time in trying to find a replacement.

Steve Wiltfong at On3, said that Trojans are in a prime spot to land the commitment of three-star defensive lineman Floyd Boucard. Wiltfong's confidence in the prediction sits at 60 percent.

Boucard was committed to Oklahoma throughout a majority of the summer but de-committed on Sept. 16. He is no stranger to the Trojans as he took an official visit to Southern California in early June.

He hails from Miami Central High School and has led the Rockets to a 4-1 record throughout the season. Through four games this year, he has ten tackles and six tackles for loss.

During Boucard's junior year at Mobile Christian in Alabama, he put up gargantuan numbers. He had 85 tackles and 11 sacks as he helped lead the Leopards to a 15-0 record and state title.

On the field, the Director of Scouting at 247Sports, Andrew Ivins, wrote that Boucard's motor is second to none.

"Canadian-born defensive tackle that goes hard from snap to whistle and will make a difference with his secondary effort." Ivins said. "Has proven to be a spry mover for someone that’s 315 pounds as he’s quick to fire out of his stance and draw his hands. Should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level that can crash gaps and help push pockets."

If Boucard does end up committing to the Trojans, he would join a solid defensive line class featuring fellow three-star Gus Cordova and four-star Hayden Lowe.

In a media availability session on Thursday, Riley mentioned the importance of adding a few more defensive lineman into the 2025 recruiting class.

"We're definitely still in the market for both fronts, I would say those are the big areas right now," Riley said. "The focus here on the current class will be on the o-line and d-line going forward...I certainly see this class finishing strong on the o-line and d-line to complete what we think is going to be a tremendous class."

The addition of Boucard would push the Trojans to 21 commits in the class.

According to Wiltfong, Cincinnati defensive line commit Benny Patterson is also taking an official visit to Southern California as the Trojans try to reel in some big fish before the high school recruiting cycle dies down.

Interestingly enough, if Boucard ends up signing with the Trojans, he would be come the only Canadian born player on the roster.
