USC Trojans offensive tackle Kalolo Ta’aga announced on Thursday morning that he would be entering the transfer portal per his social media. Ta’aga was just a true freshman and spent one season with the Trojans.

He is the foutth USC offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal this season and the 15th player overall.

Kalolo Ta’aga Enters Portal

Coming out of high school, Kalolo Ta’aga was rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 49 overall offensive lineman in the class of 2024.

Kalolo Ta’aga committed to the USC Trojans in December of 2023. Days later he signed his letter of intent with the Trojans. Ta’aga enrolled early at USC in January of 2024. Less than a year later, Ta’aga announced that he would be leaving USC and entering the transfer portal.

The USC Trojans have now had a staggering 15 players announce their intention to enter the transfer portal.

Offensive linemen Kalolo Ta’aga, quarterback Miller Moss, edge rusher DJ Peavy, wide receiver Duce Robinson, tight end Kade Eldridge, offensive lineman Mason Murphy, running back Quinten Joyner, kicker Garth White, defensive lineman Bear Alexander, edge rusher Sam Greene, quarterback Jake Jensen, offensive lineman Amos Talalele, kicker Dennis Lynch, and offensive lineman Gino Quinones have all entered the portal since it officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9th.

The position group that has seen the most turnover is the offensive line. The No. 1 priority this offseason for coach Lincoln Riley has to be building up that offensive line. The Trojans offensive line in 2024 was nothing to write home about, but it is even more thin now.

Who are some of the top offensive lineman around the country that are on the transfer portal market?

Top Offensive Lineman in Portal

There is some elite offensive line talent available in the transfer portal. The top five available linemen in the portal per 247sports are Isaiah World, Alexander Wollschlaeger, Jordan White, Brain Moore, and Josh Thompson.

All five of these players are rated as four-stat transfers per 247sports. Will USC be able to knock the portal out of the park this offseason? If they don’t want to have another disappointing 6-6 season, they will have to.

The Trojans will wrap up their 2024 season in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl against the Texas A&M Aggies. With a win, USC will finish the year with a winning record of 7-6.

USC vs. Texas A&M kickoff is set for December 27th at 7:30pm PST on ESPN.
