USC Football: Week 5 Rival Coach Deion Sanders Praises Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams

Coach Prime expressed his admiration for Riley and Williams.

No team has generated more hype this college football season than the Colorado Buffaloes, led by NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

This Saturday, the explosive Buffalo offense will host Caleb Williams and the Trojans in USC's final trip to Colorado in the foreseeable future.

Colorado, who is coming off of an embarrassing 42-6 loss to Oregon, has already outperformed expectations this season. In their season opener, they defeated then-No. 17-ranked TCU and followed it up with a win over Nebraska and an electric overtime win against Colorado State.

USC has been an offensive powerhouse this season, averaging 55 points per game. The combination of Head Coach Lincoln Riley and Williams has once again proved to be one of the best pairings in college football, as the play-caller drafts up schemes perfect for Williams' wide-ranging skillset.

On Tuesday, Sanders met with reporters and raved about Williams' ability to perform on and off the field.

"Everything," Sanders said on what impresses him about Williams. "The kid is a playmaker. Deserved the Heisman Trophy a year ago, which he secured. I love to see his personality on commercials and in pressers. He's the epitome of class and confidence in what he brings to the table. He makes plays. He makes that team go. He's a handful."

Regarding Riley, Sanders said he had "the utmost respect and love" for the second-year USC coach, whom he called a "bonafide winner."

Back in July, Riley gave Sanders credit for his rehaul of the Colorado roster, which won just one game last season.

"I give (Sanders) credit," Riley said. "We all know what the rules are. We all know what the parameters are. And our job is to build the best teams that we can for the universities that give us the opportunity to do it. No excuses."

The two programs, both in their final year in the Pac-12 conference, will face off at 9 a.m. PDT Saturday.
