In this story:

The USC offense has obviously been very efficient this year, starting the season 4-0, but what works for the Trojans wouldn't necessarily work for everybody.

Their unique take on offense is also aided by the fact that they have one of the top quarterbacks in the country under center, and he's not afraid to throw the ball down the field.

Caleb Williams' approach to the offense is simple: Gain as many yards as possible in as few plays as you can. I mean, that's the approach in the entire game of football, right?

Well, USC is doing it a little differently, as Thuc Nhi Nguyen of The LA Times writes:

"Williams is the nation’s most efficient passer, especially after improving his accuracy on passes in the intermediate and deep range. Williams has completed 81.8% of his passes between 10 and 19 yards this season, according to Pro Football Focus, a jump from 55.7% last year. His deep throws connect 57.4% of the time compared to last season’s mark of 41.8%."

per

Thuc Nhi Nguyen of The LA Times

In less statistical terms, Caleb Williams, who already won the Heisman last year, is now connecting on even more of his passes farther down the field.

It definitely helps that his offensive weapons are among some of the fastest in the entire country and that each receiver leads the team in a different category.

Brendan Rice leads the team in touchdowns with 5, Tahj Washington leads the way in receiving yards with 278, and Zachariah Branch has 13 catches, which is the best on the team.

Spreading the wealth is also part of the reason the Trojans are one of the top teams in the country. Most of the time, a team has one guy who is "the guy" and most of the targets go their way, but with the Trojans, their three-headed monster of Rice, Washington and Branch can hurt you in all different ways.
