BREAKING: USC football gets commitment from 2024 wide receiver

The Trojans received a commitment from 2024 four-star Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan on Monday

USC has received a commitment from 2024 four-star Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan. The wideout made the announcement on social media on Monday morning.

247Sports.com ranks Jordan, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 165 pounds, as the No. 71 overall prospect nationally and the No. 13 wideout. He's a deep threat who has great speed and tremendous hands

Jordan was one of the top pass catchers in the Golden State a year ago at Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. He hauled in 83 receptions for 1,626 yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior season.

In addition to USC, Jordan received scholarship offers from 15 other schools including Georgia, Oregon and Washington.

With Jordan committing, the Trojans now have three players in their 2024 recruiting class. Four-star Oregon tight end Joey Olsen and three-star Texas running back Bryan Jackson are the two other committed recruits. Of the three, Jordan is the top ranked prospect.

HOW WILL JORDAN FIT IN USC'S OFFENSE?

As a freshman, Jordan will join a wide receiver group that should have a decent amount of turnover next season.

It's challenging to predict exactly who will be back at USC in 2024, but there is a chance that the three projected 2023 starters — Brenden Rice, Dorian Singer and Mario Williams — all depart for the NFL after next year.

Jordan is versatile, but will likely be an outside receiver for USC. If older players do depart, Jordan could certainly work his way into the rotation in his first season. Expect the wideout to add weight prior to enrolling.
