USC Football: Checking In On USC Commit, 2026 Quarterback Julian Lewis

How Georgia product Julian Lewis has fared in his second high school season under center.
In this story:

He is undeniably one of the most talented sophomores in the country with arm talent beyond his years. As a freshman, he threw for 4,118 yards and 48 touchdowns on his way to one of the best freshman seasons in Georgia prep history.

After committing to USC earlier this season, Julian Lewis has put together a not-so-quiet sophomore stat line. According to 247 Sports, he currently sits at 24 touchdowns and zero interceptions. This past weekend in particular, he threw for 455 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite his potentially immense NIL value, Georgia state law currently prohibits high school athletes from participating in NIL deals. So while some high school quarterbacks might opt to cash in on their NIL by transferring, according to SI.com Lewis has insisted that he's not looking to transfer to a state that would allow him to do that.

Transferring to Southern California school to be closer to his future school would kill two birds with one stone. California was the first state that allowed high school athletes to leverage their NIL, and Los Angeles is one of the largest media markets in the country, not to mention the high level football sprinkled throughout the larger LA metro area.

According to 247 Sports, USC has only extended a scholarship offer to one other quarterback beyond the 2025 class. It's next to impossible, especially now with the transfer portal, to predict what a program's quarterback room will look line in 3 years when Lewis would theoretically arrive. QB's Miller Moss (redshirt sophomore) and Malachi Nelson (freshman) are currently on the USC roster, and are the next two up once Caleb Williams declares for the NFL draft. Neither Moss nor Nelson, two highly touted SoCal recruits, have seen any significant playing team during their college careers.

Across the way at UCLA, true freshman QB Dante Moore has started a handful of games for the Bruins. Both Moore and Lewis were/are currently at a similar level of ability during their high school sophomore seasons.

The recruiting division of AllTrojans.com will be keeping Trojans fans updated with all things Julian Lewis from now until he arrives on campus.
