USC Football: Minnesota Gophers Commit Koi Perich Considering Visiting USC

The athletic safety out of Northern Minnesota tells AllTrojans.com he is considering a visit to USC
In this story:

"Just NFL, because the last three safeties that have played my position on the Gophers have all gone to the NFL. I think I could step in and fit right there." Koi Perich is locked in with the Minnesota Gophers. He is thinking two steps ahead, making his college decision based on where he believes he best has an opportunity to develop and eventually become a professional football player.

Lincoln Secondary (Esko, MN) Class of 2024 safety Koi Perich is committed to playing college ball for the Minnesota Gophers. But that didn't stop coach USC inside linebacker coach Brian Odom from extending an offer.

"They (USC) just see me as an athlete, we didn't talk too much about a fit (in their defense). He just saw my athleticism and wanted to get me on the roll".

Perich is also an accomplished track athlete, and it's evident in his film. He's got a ton of impressive kick and punt returns on his junior highlight tape, not to mention some bone-crushing hits from the safety position.

As far as additional visits he has lined up, he tells us he hasn't decided on any just yet but that he's thinking about checking out Florida State and USC. "It's recruiting; you only get to do it once."

Perich was on campus for the Gophers game against Michigan, the last time he'd been on campus since the summertime.

Considering Perich's criteria for the college he chooses and given USC has had only two safeties drafted in the past nine years, it makes sense.

While a flip to USC seems highly unlikely at this point, USC may yet have a chance to get Perich on campus at least.
