Report: 5-star USC target will make college choice by April 1

Will Duce Robinson pick USC?

Class of 2023 5-star tight end Duce Robinson will announce his college choice by April 1, he told 247Sports.com's Blair Angulo over the weekend.

“April 1st is the cut-off date so I’ll have a decision by then,” he said. “As far as when that date might be, I couldn’t really tell you. I hundred percent plan on committing and signing to a school and being there whenever move-in day is.”

Robinson, the nation's top rated tight end prospect, is down to Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Texas and USC, but Georgia and USC are rumored to be the favorites to land him.

Robinson is also an elite baseball prospect and in a National Signing Day interview with ESPN, he said "the plan is fluid,” in regards to whether he'll play college football or go pro in baseball. If Robinson chooses to play college football, he also plans to play college baseball.

Baseball America describes Robinson, an outfielder, as "extremely intriguing but also a much-less known commodity than much of the rest of the high school draft class."

The MLB Draft is set for July 9 to July 11.

As a high school senior on the gridiron, Robinson caught 84 passes for 1,614 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Here's a portion of 247Sports.com's scouting report on Robinson as a college football recruit:

"Robinson has unlimited potential with his skill set and physical abilities to be an all conference performer for multiple years. I see him as a player that has NFL ability and should be an early round pick in his future."
