USC Football: 2024 Linebacker Desmen Stephens Commits To Trojans

USC adds another defender to their 2024 recruiting class.

Clarkston (Clarkston, MI) linebacker Desmen Stephens announced his intention to attend USC on Thanksgiving day. He was once committed to Boston College and passed up Louisville, Purdue, Michigan State and Air Force offers during his recruitment. He played mostly cornerback and wide receiver in high school but will likely transition to linebacker at the next level and is being recruited as such, according to 247Sports.

Stephen's senior season Hudl film doesn't have a lot of reps of him playing linebacker. We suspect that his athleticism is the reason why so many schools have come knocking at his door. Stephens measures up at 6'2 about 200 pounds. He moves well enough to suggest his frame can carry additional weight, which will be necessary should USC decide to play him at the linebacker position.

Stephens joins a Trojans 2024 recruiting class that 247 Sports has ranked as 18th in the country. He is the 18th commit of this cycle for USC, and the only player committed to USC out of the State of Michigan. You can check out his senior season highlight tape at the bottom of this article.

Stephens broke down why he elected to attend USC in an interview with Rivals' Clint Cosgrove. "Growing up watching USC with my family and watching that rich history build up over these years, some of my favorite players going there. It's just great to be a part of that tradition and try to make some more history." Stephen tells Cosgrove.
