USC Football: 5-Star Louisiana RB Lists Trojans in His Finalist List
2025 5-star running back Harlem Berry has announced that he has narrowed his commitment options to 5 schools, including LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and your USC Trojans, per recruiting specialist Hayes Fawcett.
Berry is a dynamic 5'11 running back from Louisiana and is ranked as the number 1 running back in the class of 2025 by 247Sports composite. He additionally ranks as the number 11 player nationally and first in the state of Louisiana.
Being from the south (and Louisiana specifically), LSU likely poses the biggest threat to USC's odds of bringing Berry in. Brian Kelly's program has been fantastic at bringing in in-state talent, including current NFL superstars and former national champions Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.
Berry's potential addition to the Trojan program would be pivotal, as his well-rounded skillset at the running back position is something that would positively impact any team, especially a USC group operating a post-Caleb Williams system.
More specifically, as a prospect, Berry is incredibly quick. He won the Louisiana 1A 100-meter state championship with a 10.57 in May 2023 and placed second at state in the 200 meters with a 21.43. He's a terrific long jump, as well, finishing 8th in the state.
With such an emphasis being placed on speed in modern football, there's no doubt that head coach Lincoln Riley will find a way to utilize Berry in the best way possible. Riley is currently doing with Zachariah Branch, another speedster, and has done so historically with offensive weapons like Marquise Brown, who was a first-round selection in the 2019 NFL draft and played under Riley at Oklahoma.
Berry is a high-end prospect certainly worth monitoring and would be a major get for your Trojans.
