Former five-star recruit (and the top-ranked recruit in the class of 2021) Korey Foreman is entering the transfer portal, according to On3's Pete Nakos. Foreman was the crowned jewel of USC's 2021 recruiting class, but never really panned out as many had hoped.

The 6'4", 235-pound edge defender tallied 24 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss,  2.5 sacks and an interception. He appeared in 26 games over his three seasons at USC and only played in three games this season, his redshirt season. The talented pass rusher battled injuries for a sizable portion of his Trojan career.

USC head coach Lincoln Riley had been complimentary of Foreman's progress prior to the start of the 2023 season. Here's a quote from Riley on Foreman from four months ago

"Right now he’s practicing the most consistent with the least amount of busts that he ever has. Our continued optimism with Korey is he does continue to get better. And we see no sign of that stopping, and there’s no telling where that ceiling is, which is a lot of fun. I’ve continued to be proud of his progress. Five practices in, he’s taken another jump this camp."

Foreman joins a pair of fellow former five-star recruits, cornerback Domani Jackson and quarterback Malachi Nelson, who number among a slew of Trojans who've entered the transfer portal.

This is amidst a slew of coaching changes in the football program that has seen USC poach UCLA defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn for the same position. In addition to Lynn, Lincoln Riley is bringing in current North Dakota State head coach Matt Entz to coach Trojan linebackers, all while USC's best recruiter and defensive backs coach Donte Williams jumps ship for the same position at Georgia.
