USC football: Trojans are on the radar of 4-star linebacker

Gabriel Williams is rated as the No. 211 prospect nationally in the 2024 class, per the 247Sports composite

USC plans to sign a linebacker or two in the 2024 class. We've written previously about the staff's interest in St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. Another name to pay attention to is St. Vincent Pallotti (Laurel, Md.) 'backer Gabriel Williams.

In an interview with 247Sports.com's Brian Dohn, Williams mentioned that the USC staff views him similarly to Trojans linebacker Eric Gentry.

“Coach Odom is a great guy and he has someone who plays just like me," Williams said. "We are the same build and can do some of the same things. I am about to go set up my official visit. A lot of people like to take us tall people and stand us up off the edge but coach Odom lets you be freer and run around.”

Williams, who's 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, hasn't locked in an official visit to USC yet, but said the Trojans are in contention. He plans to officially visit Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and Duke. Penn State, Kentucky and USC are the other the schools he's considering, per Dohn.

Williams is rated as the No. 211 prospect nationally, per the 247Sports composite. He's the No. 19 linebacker.

USC MAKES MAJOR IMPRESSION ON FOUR-STAR SAFETY

USC hosted four 2024 prospects on official visits over the weekend. Out of the group, four-star Judson (Converse, Texas) safety Myles Davis seemed to have left LA feeling the best about the Trojans.

Davis told 247Sports.com's Steve Wiltfong after his visit: “USC is in serious consideration for being my home. I’m considering moving some visits up so I can see how they are and make my decision this coming month, especially with them taking two safeties."

Davis stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 185 pounds. The 247Sports composite ranks him as the No. 338 player nationally and the No. 32 safety prospect.
