USC football: Trojans hosting massive recruiting weekend
The Pylon 7-on-7 Los Angeles event takes place this weekend, meaning many of the nation's top football prospects are set to compete.
While in Los Angeles, many of those prospects intend to check out the USC Trojans.
Here's a look at some of the top prospects expected to be on campus* (*list subject to change):
Class of 2024
5-star DL David Stone, IMG Academy (Florida) — The nation's No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 4 overall prospect is the headliner of this weekend's visitor list.
While Oklahoma and Michigan State are thought to be the favorites over Texas A&M, USC and the rest of the field, a big visit can quickly turn the tide.
4-star OL Brandon Baker, Mater Dei (California) — The nation's No. 1 offensive tackle is expected to be on campus.
Mater Dei has a loaded roster and keeping the pipeline flowing from the national power to USC is key to recruiting success in the state of California.
4-star EDGE Booker Pickett Jr, Wharton (Florida) — Rated the nation's No. 52 overall prospect and No. 5 edge-rusher, Booker Pickett holds nearly 40 scholarship offers and is being heavily recruited by the nation's top programs.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defensive star has already included USC in his top nine.
4-star OL Marques Easley, Kankakee (Illinois) — The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive lineman is rated the nation's No. 18 offensive tackle, but holds offers from more than 30 programs, highlighted by most of the nation's biggest programs.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC and many others are involved.
4-star OL Waltclaire Flynn Jr., Grayson (Georgia) — The nation's No. 7 interior offensive lineman is set to announce his commitment on August 3.
He holds nearly 20 scholarship offers and his recruitment appears to be still undecided.
4-star RB Anthony Carrie, Carrollwood City (Florida) — The 6-foot, 185-pound ball carrier is rated the nation's No. 11 running back and holds more than 40 scholarship offers.
4-star WR Jeremiah McClellan, Christian Brothers College (Missouri) — A dynamic pass-catcher with more than 40 scholarship offers, Jeremiah McClellan is a top-200 prospect nationally and is one of the most coveted prospects in the Midwest.
4-star OL Preston Taumua, Alea (Hawaii) — The No. 1 prospect out of Hawaii, Preston Taumua is a 6-foot-4, 315-pound interior offensive lineman who is rated a top-250 prospect nationally.
4-star ATH Jason Mitchell, St. John Bosco (California) — A safety prospect, Jason Mitchell is a versatile 6-foot-3, playmaker.
Mitchell is considered a heavy USC lean.
4-star QB Jayden Bradford, IMG Academy (Florida) — A four-star quarterback who is rated the nation's No. 14 signal-caller, Jayden Bradford holds nearly 20 scholarship offers, highlighted by Louisville, Missouri, Penn State, South Carolina, Syracuse and others.
4-star EDGE Jaylen Harvey, Quince Orchard (Maryland) — A four-star edge-rusher, Jaylen Harvey is believed to be a Penn State lean.
If USC wants to turn that narrative, this weekend's visit would be a great place to start.
