C F Vigor High School (Mobile, AL) 2025 offensive tackle Micah DeBose took to his personal X account yesterday to announce that he had received an offer to USC. The 6-5 300-pound junior had previously been committed to Georgia since January of last year but recently reopened his commitment.

According to AL.com, the decision came about due to DoBose being recruited harder by other schools in the South while he was committed to Georgia. Essentially, Georgia didn't pay him enough attention.

Based on DeBose's X feed, USC is the only school to offer the four-star (247Sports) prospect since his de-commitment. However, DeBose already had over thirty offers prior to hearing from USC.

AllTrojans.com hasn't scouted DeBose in person, but 247Sports' analyst Gabe Brooks wrote up a couple notes regarding DeBose's development:

Big-bodied offensive lineman with left tackle experience who could potentially play outside or on the interior at the high-major level. Looks noticeably larger than this past offseason (Spring 2023). Plays with adequate bend but sometimes stands up and gets out over his feet when engaged, which compromises body control and leverage.

USC currently has zero commits in their 2025 class. Interestingly enough, the Trojans have four players committed to their 2026 class.

With the transfer portal closing on January 2nd, it's not hard to imagine the Trojans recruiting staff being more focused on transfers than 2025 recruits at the moment. But as the fall transfer window closes and the off-season camp circuit begins in the spring, 2025 recruitment will be roaring.
