USC commit Miller Moss has been named one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the nation by SI All-American.

Moss, who recently transferred from Alemany to Mater Dei, was ranked the No. 9 QB nationally.

USC's other committed quarterback, Jake Garcia of La Habra, did not make the top 10.

"Moss is most effective in the pocket and possesses a quick release," the article states. "He is at his best when things are clean and on time, though he’s capable of making some reactionary phase and off-platform throws.

"While he won’t factor much as a runner, Moss is accurate to all levels and is a natural thrower of the football. He fits best in a shotgun-based offense with a passing game predicated on rhythm and timing."

If high school football in California and college football do not play in the fall, there is a dilemma for Moss and Garcia: Do they play their senior seasons of high school or go to USC in January?

USC is thin at quarterback with Kedon Slovis and Matt Fink the only scholarship QBs at USC.

So there is a chance Moss or Garcia could play if Slovis and Fink got hurt. Remember, last year, USC played three quarterbacks because of injuries.

On the other hand, maybe Moss and/or Garcia want to play their senior seasons of high school. The trend for highly rated QBs is to enroll early, however.
