Former USC Football Stars Turned Reporters Post Cryptic Social Media Messages Causing Speculation Around Team
USC football is in quite a weird spot right now. Following back to back losses that took the team out of contention for the College Football Playoff, things have only gotten weirder around USC.
Head coach Lincoln Riley has missed the last two practices with an undisclosed illness. The team has quickly worked to make Kliff Kingsbury their official assistant in Riley's absence. There has been tons of talk all season about the job security of defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. And on Tuesday, two former USC stars turned members of the media took to social media to post very cryptic messages.
First, it was former USC quarterback Matt Leinart, who now works for FOX, posting this:
And then, it was former USC defensive back Su'a Cravens, who now works for CBS Sports, who posted this:
It's impossible to know what either of these messages mean, but with all the uncertainty surrounding the program right now, it doesn't exactly instill confidence in Trojan fans.
Hopefully we get some sort of update from the team soon regarding the health of Riley, the job status of Grinch and more, but for now, USC fans are left to speculate about what these cryptic messages from USC insiders mean.
For what it's worth, Leinart did take to social media to say his message didn't have to do with USC news. But at this point, it's hard to know what anything means anymore.
