From Mike Bohn's unexpected resignation to a new football commit for Lincoln Riley, there has been a ton of USC news this week. Here's what we're hearing.

'IN THE DARK'

Many inside the USC athletics office currently know as much as the public does regarding former athletic director Mike Bohn's resignation.

"We're in the dark," a source told SI All Trojans.

Bohn resigned on Friday following an investigation into workplace culture within the Trojans athletic department.

In a statement announcing the resignation, USC president Carol Folt wrote: "In our singular pursuit of excellence, I am committed to ensuring we have the right leadership in place to achieve our goals. As part of that commitment and as we prepare to move to the Big Ten, we conducted a thorough review of the athletics department, including its operations, culture, and strategy. Having built a strong foundation over the last few years, now is the time for new direction grounded in our values and in expertise needed to fulfill our aspirational vision for Trojan athletics."

Folt's message is the only mass communication staffers have received.

AUSTIN OVERN TO FOCUS SOLELY ON BASEBALL

USC freshman baseball phenom Austin Overn plans to focus only on baseball next year after walking on with the football team last fall, according to his father Chad.

Overn has had a tremendous baseball season for the Trojans, which of course played a role in his decision. Overn starts in centerfield for USC and is currently hitting a team best .313. His 14 triples leads the country. In USC's Pac-12 Tournament opener against UCLA on Tuesday, Overn had five RBI's in a 6-4 win.

If Overn elected to play football this fall, he would have had to forgo his baseball scholarship and become a double walk on. Overn's plan is to play baseball next season at USC and then enter the MLB Draft as a 21-year old. If his sophomore baseball season doesn't go according to plan, there's a chance he'd return to the football team as a junior. But right now, the plan is to fully pursue baseball.

FOOTBALL SCHEDULE UPDATE

USC's Oct. 14 away football game against Notre Dame in South Bend will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

NEW FOOTBALL COMMIT

Be on the lookout for a new USC football commit in the coming days or weeks. Lincoln Riley doesn't just throw out ✌️ tweets for nothing.
