USC names interim administrator to lead athletic department after Mike Bohn resignation

USC president Carol Folt named Denise Kwok, USC’s executive senior associate athletic director for student-athlete development, as the school's interim executive administrator

Former USC athletic director Mike Bohn's interim replacement has been announced. 

USC president Carol Folt named Denise Kwok, USC’s executive senior associate athletic director for student-athlete development, as the school's interim executive administrator on Wednesday.

Kwok will aid the athletic department's transitions to the Big Ten and assist with finding a new permanent athletic director.

Additionally, Folt appointed a seven person “interim leadership” team to work with Kwok and the athletic department during the transition period between athletic directors. 

Sandy Barbour, Mitch Moser, and Kevin Weiberg are the outside members of the interim leadership team. Barbour is a former athletic director at Cal Berkeley and Penn State. Moser worked in Duke's athletic department for 25 years and Weiberg is the former Big 12 commissioner. 

USC’s incoming provost Andrew Guzman, senior vice president and general counsel Beong-Soo Kim, senior vice president of human resources, equity and compliance Felicia Washington and presidential advisor Mark Merritt make up the four internal members of USC's interim leadership team. 

"The team will augment the leadership and staff in our department and provide a broad national perspective on changes taking place nationally," Folt wrote in a letter to the USC community.

Last Friday, Bohn resigned following an investigation into workplace culture within the Trojans athletic department. No timetable has been given regarding when USC will hire Bohn's replacement.

- Pat Chun - Washington State Athletic Director

- Jen Cohen - University of Washington Athletic Director

- Rick George - Colorado Athletic Director

- Mark Jackson - Villanova Athletic Director

- Heather Lyke - Pittsburgh Athletic Director

- Mack Rhoades - Baylor Athletic Director

- Brandon Sosna - Senior Director of Football Administration for the Detroit Lions

- Ed Stewart - USC Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director
