A number of superstar athletes had the pleasure of representing the University of Southern California recently during the World Athletics Championships and they specifically shined in the track & field areas.

Rai Benjamin is someone who had an electric career with the Trojans as he rocked the red and gold during the 2018 season and helped push them to fourth place in the NCAA championships while also setting a number of collegiate records on the way there.

In the WAC, Benjamin was able to bring home a gold and bronze medal and set another record for this year when he competed in the 4x400 relay race.

Take a look at his race down below!

Other notable former and current Trojans track & field stars also left their marks in the WAC and came away with medals including Yemi John, TeeTee Terry and Nicole Yeargin.

"During the nine days of the World Athletics Championships, USC athletes combined for six medals. Trojans earning medals at the meet of the world's best track and field athletes were:

Rai Benjamin

(GOLD – M-4x400m, BRONZE – M-400m H), (SILVER -Mixed-4x400m, BRONZE – W-4x400m),

TeeTee Terry

(GOLD – W4x100m),

Nicole Yeargin

(BRONZE – W-4x400m)."

There are few better things than seeing USC's own dominate at the international level and receive some hardware in exchange for their hard work. We wish the best of luck to all former Trojans and cannot wait to see current athletes at the school continue this success!
