USC Women's Cross Country: Schedule Announced For 2023 Season
Your USC Trojans' women's cross country team has announced its schedule for its six meets in the fall 2023 season, per the club's official Twitter account.
On September 1st, the program will kick things off in the LMU South Bay Twilight run. The next week, on September 9th, USC will compete in the Waves Invitational. The team will get a one-month reprieve until its next met, the Highlander Invitational on October 14th. The Pac-12 Championships transpire on October 27th. The NCAA West Regional is scheduled for November 10th, while the NCAA Championships have been penciled in for the 18th of that month.
This year's Trojans club captain is 5'7" junior Giovanna Pisano, who as a freshman finished with the best placement (66th) of a USC runner in six seasons during the 2021 Pac-12 Championships. She finished with a 23:09.2 6K time. Last year as a sophomore, however, Pisano finished in 104th place, with a 25:18.8 6K. Then-freshman teammate Lucy Westlake was the high finisher for USC, with a 21:37.8 6K time that was good for just 78th in a faster overall group.
It will be fascinating to see how this year's group, coached by David Freeman, will perform this season.
