USC Women's Volleyball: Pac-12 Rival Levels Women Of Troy

USC can't overcome the third-ranked team in the nation.

Heading into Palo Alto last Friday, your USC Women of Troy volleyball team was looking to start a winning streak after coming off of a win at Arizona.

The dream of getting a winning streak started was shot down very quickly as third-ranked Stanford swept USC in straight sets.

The Cardinal made quick work of USC as they won 25-22. 25-14, 25-14.

This is the sixth game that the Trojans have dropped on the road in nine Pac-12 opportunities.

Even through they got swept, there were many good performances put in by USC.

Outside hitter Skyler Fields led the way with 10 kills. She led the team by five kills as Tyrah Ariail finished the game with five herself.

USC only had 28 kills as a team.

There was not much defense played by USC as they were lacking in the blocks category.

Fields and Ariail both led the way with two blocks each. As a team the Women of Troy only had three blocks.

Setter Mia Tuaniga had a nice day as she finished with 20 assists. The rest of the team had seven assists.

The loss to Stanford started a rough trip to northern California for USC. The team dropped its second game of the weekend to Cal, but were able to win a set this time.

The team picked up a big upset win at home this past Friday as they defeated No. 4 Washington State in five sets.

With a handful of games left in the volleyball season, USC will have some work to do if they want to make it into the NCAA tournament.
