USC men's basketball is officially searching for a new head coach after Andy Enfield departed to become the head coach of SMU basketball. Enfield spent eleven seasons as the Trojans head coach from 2013-2024.

USC athletic director Jennifer Cohen has addressed the departure of Enfield with a statement thanking Enfield and sharing the program's next steps.

“On behalf of USC Athletics, I want to thank Andy Enfield for his eleven seasons of leadership and service to the University. He elevated and established USC Men’s Basketball as a premier program with a strong national presence. We are so grateful for everything Andy accomplished and we wish him, Amanda, Aila, Lily, and Marcum all the best in this new chapter in their lives."

"Our national search for a new head coach is underway and I am confident that we will find the right person to lead our program. We have a track record of competitiveness, passionate supporters and fans, a robust donor collective, and are about to compete in the nation’s premier athletic conference. There is no ceiling to what our program can achieve and I look forward to introducing our next head coach," Cohen said.

USC men's basketball's next head coach will have big shoes to fill in replacing Enfield. Though Enfield and the Trojans struggled during the 2023-2024 campaign, he previously led USC to five March Madness appearances. He even brought USC to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2021 for the first time in 20 years. He also helped bring in top recruits including Isaiah Collier and former Trojan Evan Mobley.

The new coach will be tasked with building off the initial success Enfield brought to the program as well as helping guide USC to success in their new conference, the Big Ten.
