Football season is almost upon us, Trojan fans. It's the best time of the year, and we cannot wait to see our Trojans make history and fight for a college football playoff spot in 2023.

Although our focus will be on college football, we will have our eyes on former Trojans who graced the cardinal red and gold. There have been great players that have come from USC and are doing their thing in the NFL.

USC is among the best at producing NFL talent, and these wide receiver alumni are no exception. NFL columnist from CBS Sports Jeff Kerr released a column on who he believes is an overvalued player for their respective teams, and Drake London of the Falcons and Amon-Ra st. Brown of the Lions made the list.

Kerr is basing this list on teams who may be too heavily reliant on these players, and the two former wideouts made Kerr's list.

Here's what he had to say about the 2021 fourth-round pick.

With

Jameson Williams

suspended and

D.J. Chark

departing in free agency, St. Brown is the most reliable receiver on the Lions depth chart. He'll have a tall task early in the season with Williams out, although having a veteran presence in

Marvin Jones

and

Josh Reynolds

will help...

Will St. Brown have enough pass catchers to help him out until Williams returns? That's what the Lions are banking on early in the season. St. Brown is good enough to produce, but having another pass catcher step up will make his job easier.

A lot of eyes will be on St. Brown because of Williams's absence and the departure of Chark, and deservedly so.  Brown has proved that he could be a potential WR1 for the Lions, and he's established a great connection with quarterback Jared Goff in his first two seasons.

London also made the list, and it's possible that more will be expected from the second-year player in a lonely Falcons team.

Name two other wide receivers on the Falcons outside of London. That's an answer that requires some thinking, given the lack of depth at the position.

London is a good receiver, as the top 10 draft pick from 2022 caught 72 passes for 866 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie year. He was clearly the No. 1 wide receiver on the Falcons, and the most consistent pass catcher with

Kyle Pitts

struggling. The Falcons have

Mack Hollins

and

Scott Miller

to complement London, putting a lot of pressure on a second-year receiver to perform. With

Desmond Ridder

as a first-year starting quarterback, the heat is on London to be a No. 1 wideout every week.

These two former Trojans are doing their thing in the league, and it's been great to witness. We wish them the best in this upcoming season, and although a lot will be expected of them, I'm sure they wouldn't want it any other way.
