The Utah Women's basketball team had a tough matchup on the road against No.8 Colorado to close out 2023.

It was the first bit of Pac-12 action both programs have experienced this season and it saw the Buffaloes as the emerging victors as they beat the No. 12 Utes 76-65.

It was a stellar performance by Alissa Pili, who led the team in points, assists, and rebounds, going 10/18 from the field and 6/7 from the line for 27 points while also grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. However, Colorado's Jaylyn Sherrod took the spotlight, going 13/23 from the field and 7/10 from the line for 34 points while also getting 4 rebounds and 4 assists from the guard position.

The Utes outside of Pili left much to be desired, especially when it came to turnovers as Utah had 20 compared to Colorado's 14. As far as scoring goes, the next-highest scorer for the Utes was Kennady McQueen with 9 points while the next-highest-scoring player for the Buffaloes was Aaronette Vonleh with 18.

With this loss, the Utah women have still yet to beat a ranked opponent this season as their record falls to 10-3 on the year. Next up, the Utes will travel to Tempe to face Arizona State on January, 5th.
