Two Double-Doubles For Utah In Thumping of Oregon State
The Huntsman Center hosted some Pac-12 basketball action and the Utes put on a show for the home crowd.
Oregon State currently occupies the last spot in the conference with a now 9-8 overall record and a 1-5 conference record while Utah is tied for third in the conference with Colorado hoisting a 13-5 overall record and a 4-3 conference record.
Keba Keita came in as the Ute's leading scorer and board-getter as he racked up 18 points going a perfect 4/4 from the line and 7/12 from the field. He occompanied his scoring outburst with 15 rebounds granting him the first of two double-doubles for the Utes in the matchup. Branden Carlson was the other half of the double-double duo as he went 6/10 from the field and 3/6 from the line for 17 points while also grabbing 10 boards. Meanwhile, Deivon Smith was Utah's assist leader as he dished out 8 of them while also getting 14 points.

For the Beavers, Dexter Akanno was the leading scorer with 12 points, going 3/7 from the field and 4/6 from the line. Michael Rataj was Oregon State's leading rebounder with 5 boards and Jordan Pope ended up as their assist leader with 3.
Utah outrebounded the Beavers 52-31 and outscored them by double-digits in both halves. This win, despite being expected is still a statement piece for the team as the Utes absolutely dominated every facet of the game and put in a true team effort throughout. Next up on the docket for the Runnin' Utes is some more Pac-12 action at the Huntsman as the Oregon Ducks come into town on January, 21st.
